Lyme Study
About
In 2012, while I was still on staff at Hall Brooke hospital in Westport, I gave a Ground Rounds titled "Meditation: Joining Science and Tradition." Following that presentation, I had the pleasure of meeting Dr. Brian Fallon, a professor at Columbia University Medical School, and director of the Lyme and Tic-Born Diseases Research Center there. We discussed one of the things that had emerged as I prepared my talk. Namely, that meditation was already being used as a complimentary treatment in a variety of illnesses. We decided to join together to examine the possibility that meditation could be of benefit in recovery from post treatment Lyme disease.
While it has taken several years, the paper generated by this research titled "Kundalini Yoga for Post-Treatment Lyme Disease: A Randomized and Controlled Pilot Study" is being submitted to various journals for publication.
If you are interested in adding stretching and meditation to your recovery from chronic illness, please contact me.
